March expected to be warmer, wetter than normal

A continued La Nina will likely bring an early spring to the Midwest, according to the National Weather Service.

The mild winter should continue for Illinois and most of the Midwest iin March, with only the West Coast and Alaska showing colder-than-normal temperatures, the National Weather Service forecast on Thursday.

The National Weather Service said the March forecast was based on historical La Nina conditions, which could continue affecting weather patterns until May.
