Illinois harvest progress accelerates

Statewide, the fall harvest is entering the final third of completion.

Here is the latest progress report on the Illinois harvest, from the Illinois Ag Statistics Service:
  • Illinois corn harvest is 64% complete, compared with last week's 49% and the long-term average of 55% complete.
  • Soybean harvest statewide is 73% complete, compared with 50% last week and the long-term average of 64%.
  • Sorghum harvest is 63% finished, compared with 44% last week and the average pace for this week at 52%.
  • Two-thirds (66%) of winter wheat is planted, which is double the progress reported last week.  20% of wheat is now emerging, on par with the long-term average.
