It’s time again to send in your applications for the Illinois Farm Bureau Market Study Tour. Tamara Nelsen, Senior Director of Commodities at the Illinois Farm Bureau says this year, the group will travel to Cuba. Nelsen says the trip will be in March. Nelsen says dates haven’t been set in stone yet, but the trip will likely be March 12-17 or the 26-31.
Nelson says applications are due this year a little earlier than normal. “We have to have them in here by Friday December 16 and the counties sometimes need to see them before then,” says Nelsen. “Folks need to get those filled out. The good news is it is very easy. It doesn’t take them long to fill them out and the forms are online.”
You can go to www.ilfb.org
to find the online application.
Nelsen says the counties who have never sent anyone on a Market Study trip has first priority to go on this trip to Cuba. “There’s a priority list of counties who have never sent a participant on the Market Study Tour,” says Nelsen. “If you are from the majority of the southern part of the state, so south of I-70, a lot of those counties have never sent anyone on the trip. We would love to have an applicant.”
