IL corn harvest 6% complete
Corn harvest still remains in early stages.

Farmers are beginning to prepare equipment for corn harvest, with 6 percent of the crop already reported as harvested. The Illinois Ag Statistics Service says corn in the dent stage is now at 91 percent statewide,
compared to 67 percent last year and the 5-year average of 56 percent.
Corn now is at 44 percent mature, compared to 8 percent last year and the 5-year average of 10 percent. Corn conditions were rated at 43 percent very poor, 35 percent poor, 18 percent fair and 4 percent good.
Soybeans setting pods has reached 97 percent, compared to 95 percent last year and the 5-year average of 92 percent. Soybeans turning yellow reached 20 percent. Soybean conditions were rated at 25 percent very poor, 26 percent poor, 38 percent fair, and 11 percent good.
The sorghum crop is 93 percent headed, 60 percent coloring, and 7 percent mature.
