Illinois Farm Bureau Leaders to Washington began their pre-election policy tour with a farm bill discussion with House Ag Committee member Bobby Schilling, a Colona Republican. The congressman maintained September farm bill passage is "imperative to our part of the country." The Illinois farmers presented Schilling American Farm Bureau Federation's Friend of Farm Bureau Award.

Also up were AFBF policy specialists Pat Wolff and Andrew Walmsley, who briefed Leaders on tax debate during Congress' lame duck session and EPA's review of ethanol and the federal Renewable Fuels Standard.
