Hay prices soar in local markets
USDA Market News reports that Central Illinois hay auctions are hitting high levels.

This week's Central Illinois hay prices are soaring, with prices $2.75 to $3.00 higher at some auctions.
At the Arthur sale barn, small square bales of premium quality alfalfa hay sold for as high as $13.00 each. Good quality hay was selling between $6.25-$8.00/bale. Large round bales were selling at $135.00 for a 5x6 size, and $105.00 for a 5x5 bale.
At Shelbyville, alfalfa and alfalfa-orchard grass bales of hay were selling between $7.00 and $9.00 per bale.
In Congerville, premium quality alfalfa hay was selling between $6.50-$7.25/bale.
